Three YouTube Channels for Easy-to-Follow Analytics Help

For client work over the past few weeks, I needed to expand my previously rudimentary knowledge of Google Tag Manager (GTM), and also to add to my decent level of experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

To achieve this goal, along with Stack Overflow, I turned to YouTube as a key learning resource.

To help others out there who need to get a handle on GA4 and/or GTM in order to properly track metrics including page views and clicks as well as purchases and lead magnet downloads, I recommend you start with these YouTube channels. Here’s why….

1. Analytics Mania

As host of this channel, Julius Fedorovicius, explains in his most recent videos, Google is currently implementing many changes simultaneously in both GTM and GA4. You can rely on his extensive expertise on both platforms — he’s used Google Analytics since 2011 and GTM since 2014 — to navigate these changes, and to get a great foundation in these tools.

I like that he speaks clearly, doesn’t go too fast, and provides applicable real-world website examples to show how to do things in GTM and GA4. He also does an excellent job of referencing other videos he’s done that explore related steps, which you’ll find clearly listed in the video description. (I mention this because sometimes other YouTube teachers will mention this in a video, and then you can’t find the other video they mention in the current video’s description.)

2. MeasureSchool

This channel has several other hosts, but I’ve only watched videos from Sofiia Bychkovska, based on my specific “issue” search terms. With Google very recently — within the past two months — changing a foundational tag in GTM from a GA4 Configuration Tag to just a Google Tag, her sample video above helped me to quickly understand what to substitute in my mind for older videos that reference the GA4 Configuration Tag.

While I find her delivery to be a bit too syrupy at times, her expertise in GTM and GA4 is undeniable. Also in the plus column is the fact that she keeps the most common business applications in context when explaining which GTM tag and trigger settings can be ignored. While Google offers a ton of flexibility in GTM, it’s helpful to know when you can save time by skipping some parameters.

3. Loves Data

Benjamin Mangold’s videos on this channel are simply a pleasure to watch. His channel name stems from the name of his company, which offers courses in GTM and GA4 as well as Google Ads and Looker Studio.

To avoid a pun, I’ll say that I appreciate the brand through-flow from his company name, to his channel, to the adoration of data-measurement applications that comes across in his videos. You’ll find Benjamin smiling on virtually every step he shares, which helped me digest the information and apply it more quickly.
